Got The One Lovely Blog Award!
When a good thing happens when you least expect it the event becomes a whole lot sweeter. I’m pleased that talented, aspiring author Carla Kempert sent me the One Lovely Blog Award after writing a whole bunch of nice things about me and my books on her blog. :Smooch: It’s great to be appreciated.
See what Carla wrote here.
Carla says I have to write ten things about myself as a recipient of the One Lovely Blog Award–kind of like Jay Leno asks celebrities to “Earn Your Plug” on his show by making them to do something totally oddball after pitching their new movie or television drama.
In keeping with the rules of earning my plug, here are ten things you might not know about me:
1. I love men. I’m rabidly heterosexual and have always enjoyed the company of men. Since I’m also very, very married I have to appreciate the opposite sex from afar or my husband will divorce me. That might explain my blog hunks and career choice as an erotic romance author. :) (I’m sure a therapist would have a ball analyzing that.)
2. I love my blog and hope readers enjoy visiting time and again. I’m always open to new ideas on how to make this a more fun and interesting place. Leave your suggestions in the comments section any time.
3. My hair is naturally curly. When someone screws up their face and snorts, “Yeah, right,” after they’ve asked if my curls are real and I’ve told them the truth, I just laugh.
4. In my youth I was a model for a fashion designer in the Caribbean.
5. I was always very thin as a young woman. (See #4 above.) Then I woke up on my fortieth birthday with someone else’s body. Don’t know how the hell that happened, but that’s the God’s honest truth.
6. I paid my own way through college and made the Dean’s List while working odd jobs as a cocktail waitress, a hotel maid, a shoe salesperson, a donut maker, a flea market dealer, or by writing articles for the local newspaper.
7. My favorite guilty pleasure is a chocolate chip cookie. Or six. (See #5 above.)
8. I’m proud to say I have the world’s best husband. I’m really, really lucky. He should teach a class on how men should treat women.
9. One day I’m going to live at the beach full-time. It’s my favorite place to be.
10. I’ll write books until the day I die and continue to love my readers.

I never once questioned your hair, Adele; people with perms will get straight at the top after a while, but yours is always the same kind of curly. (And it looks great on you!) Plus too many perms will burn your hair dry but yours has always looked full and healthy! Trust me, I know the burned-out hair thing from personal experience.
Yours is very definitely a Very Lovely Blog, and I enjoy reading it often! You’ve had an amazing life, so thank you so much for sharing yourself with us!
hugs, Carla

Adele,
You most definitely have a Very Lovely Blog. It’s one of the best ones I’ve seen and you always have something interesting to post. I loved your list. You have so many life experiences to draw from in writing your stories. I never doubted your hair was naturally curly. I’ve always wanted curly hair. Congrats on your award.
