REV ME UP Harley-Davidson
The biggest, baddest, most beautiful Harley-Davidson motorcycle I’d ever seen was parked near the boardwalk by Rehoboth Beach. The bike was pitch-black with bright silver chrome and had a thick, wide black leather seat. The cushion looked custom–extending from the rear passenger seat to the front, and then up toward the groove between the handle bars. Long enough to recline against.
Like a portable bed.
That seat inspired the setting for the final love scene in my erotic romance novel REV ME UP.
I’ve researched hundreds of photographs of Harley-Davidson motorcycles since the day I saw that custom bike and have yet to find another like it. The motorcycle pictured below is similar, copied from a free site and offered by topspeed.com. There are thousands of pictures of Harley-Davidson motorcycles on the Internet if you want to relax and browse.
Can you imagine riding one of these with the hero of your dreams? Owning one of your own? Close your eyes and REV!

First off I loved Rev Me Up. Such a great story and one I would definitely re-read. I just thought you should know.
I actually own my own motorcycle but would love a new huskier one. I have a Suzuki GZ250. Its a beginner bike and I’m ready for more power between my thighs.
That Harley is beautiful and what great inspiration.

OMG, did you hit a nerve. Every hero I’ve ever written drove/rode something very specific to his personality. My late-night radio DJ hero rode a Harley and ever since then, a ride on a Harley (both driving and as a passenger) is on my Bucket List. I can’t see a Fat Boy pass by without my tongue rolling out of my head. (I mean the motorcycle, people! Tsk…)
I can share a passage from the MS, with the Harley in it, if you like.

Adele,
The Harley is beautiful, but honestly I’ve never had a desire to ride one, even one driven by a sexy hunk. I love road trips, but in a car. However, I think I’m in the minority. I’m sure most women love the idea of riding a big “hog” behind a sexy man.

Adele,
Rev Me Up was fantastic! You deserve your great reviews. I love your writing and storytelling.
When I was sixteen my boyfriend drove a motorcycle. He was the sexiest, best looking boy I’d ever met and I loved the way he looked on that bike.
The first time he came to the house to pick me up for a date my father pitched a fit. He said ‘no way’ his daughter was getting on the back of that bike. In those days, there were no helmet laws. It was summer, and all we wore were shorts and tank tops.
Of course, I did sneak a few rides on that back of that motorcycle with him. I’ve never forgotten the feeling, though it was thirty years ago.

Brandy–Thank you for your kind comments about REV ME UP. I’m so glad to know you enjoyed the book.
It’s very cool you drive your own bike. Wow. I own a ragtop convertible, and I can honestly say I feel happiest when I’m driving with the top down on a sunny day. There’s nothing like that feeling of freedom the open road brings.
When you get that bigger, more powerful bike, enjoy. After reading REV ME UP you know what can happen when driving at high speed! LOL.

Aren’t Harley fantasies fun? LOL.

“Riding behind a SEXY hunk”
Can’t agree more. The only way to get closer to a hot guy is, well, you can read about it in “Rev Me Up”.
Thanks for letting me share!
She pulled the helmet over her head. Her hair spilled loose around her shoulders. Casey went hard just for watching her. She caught him looking and smiled, a blush tinting her smooth cheeks. “What?”
He shook his head. “You’re sexy and you don’t even know it.”
“No I’m not,” she said softly and turned to the back door, digging a key ring out of her bag.
“Bec.” He took her hand, turning her back and into his arms. Without warning he took her lips, hard and fast, suddenly starving for the taste of her. She opened to him and sighed into his mouth. The sound of her surrender only fanned the flames she’d started when he first felt her arms around him on the bike. Remembering the feel of her thighs pressed tight around his was enough to make him lose it prematurely. Had he known how much foreplay could be had from a simple motorcycle ride, he’d have tried it a long time ago. But at least he learned it now, with Becca. He had a feeling it could never be the same again with anyone else. It hurt to pull back from her, but he needed to let her know, as if the erection pressing into her hip didn’t say it clearly enough. “I need you. Now.”

About 15 years ago I saw this chic on a crotch rocket at the gas station and I thought that was so cool. However, I didn’t do anything about it. Then one day, I made my motorcycle fantasy a reality 3 years ago when I jumped from behind the steering wheel and took a 3 weekend motorcycle endorsement course offered by the state of Florida.
Shortly after earning my endorsement, I bought a Yamaha 650 Classic with only 600 miles. It looked a lot like the Harely you have pictured just add more chrome pipes, dummy bars, and a studded seat. Yamaha copied the Harley’s look on purpose to compete with their classic look.
Unfortunately, I sold Black Jack –my nickname for him– 2 years later to another female biker because I wasn’t riding him much. And in my opinion a bike that beautiful deserved to be ridden:)
One day I would like to ride through Latin America or America’s West on a bike. Hopefully, I’ll have a hunk as beautiful as the one you have on the cover of “Rev Me Up” riding with me:)

Koko–Loved your story. It’s always fun and interesting talking with you. I hope your dream ride with a dream hunk comes true. If you’re ever in PA, take a ride in my convertible with me.

Adele, Rev Me Up was AWESOME!!!! Beautiful bike. I never drove myself but I’ve sure rode on some nice bikes in my time. LOL. I used to be…a little adventurous way back before kids and before I met Mr. Right who is now banned from driving a motorcycle since he got nailed on one once and it scared the crap out of me. I was also raised around bikers. My mother used to drive a Harley back in the 60’s and is always telling us how she had to give up her bike when she had more than one kid because she could only zip one kid at a time in her leather jacket. LOL! True story. (Makes me flinch as a mom these days imagining seeing a woman straddling a bike with a baby zipped in her jacket but those were the days of no seatbelts, no helmets, and people let kids ride in the backs of open trucks so… different time.)

Laurann–I like AWESOME! Thanks so much for the compliment. Glad to know you loved REV ME UP.
Your mom zipped the baby inside her leather jacket while riding her Harley? LOL. That’s a great story (if a little scary…). You’re right, those were different times.
Guess we married couples have had to settle down. I don’t ride a motorcycle, but I sure do love my convertible. I’ll have a ragtop until I’m too old to drive.

Awesome covers and fun blog. Bike Week at Ocean City, MD is quite an event, seeing all the cool bikes and watching them cruise the strip. As a teen I rode dirt bikes with guy friends and had Phillipshead screws X marks branded into my calves from the hot engines.

Kathy–Hot brands marked into your calves? Ouch! That sounds painful. Glad the rest of the events were fun, though.
Thanks so much for visiting and posting.

Hi, Adele!
Lovely book.
Very much enjoy motorcycles, though I’m more of a sports bike gal. Have ridden dirt bikes for years. Best little bike I ever had was a KTM 125WXE. Now I’ve got my sights on the Ducati 696 Monster. However, being the passenger can also be a riot. *grin*
A couple of years ago I was in Albuquerque, NM, working. For a weekend, I hopped on the back of my bud’s Cagiva Gran Canyon 900 (It’s Italian, baby!) to ride the five-hours to one of my favorite ruins…Mesa Verde.
I am a person who often takes the road less traveled. And because I also happen to have the directional sense of a hamster in a shoebox, I have my best bud in the whole world with me wherever I travel…my Garman Nuvi GPS, fondly named Monique. I swear Monique has the same sense of adventure I do. She demonstrated this when she took us from the highway, through a semi-residential farm area to a well-maintained dirt road. She insisted we go that way. A shortcut. Okay. The Cagiva is a dually, so it can handle this easy-squeezy. Off we go.
Our nice dirt road turned into a two-track. Not a problem.
The two-track turned into a one-track and then to a cow trail. Um…yeah. Monique, are you sure??? She said yes, keep going. Okey dokey, she knows best, right? Onward we went.
That cow track? It turned into a large creek with fencing across it. It was supposed to be a pretty straight shot from Albuquerque to Mesa Verde on the highway, how had we ended up in the middle of nowhere, facing a creek and cow fencing? And while I might not have the directional sense God gave a hamster, my bud is an ex-Marine and ex-super-cross racer so he’s pretty savvy regarding direction. With Monique spouting out “recalculating” every five minutes and us taking cow tracks mired in sand between the boarder of Colorado and New Mexico, we finally found a real road. And yes, we made it to majestic Mesa Verde before the rain fell. That evening we dined on beautifully prepared elk tenderloin and drank luscious local wine to a spectacular Colorado mountain sunset.
And Monique… Come to find out, in the 1950s that dirt track was planned to be a highway, even made it on the maps, but wasn’t removed when the highway was never constructed. Go figure…

Love your cover, Adele. My favorite motorcyle fantasy?? Me, behind George Clooney (a slightly younger George Clooney) with me looking like Angelina Jolie.
November 13th, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Grace–What a great story! Thanks so much for sharing. Maybe we should introduce Monique to the GPS ‘Guy’ in my DESERT books. ‘Guy’ has the power to locate whatever the heroine needs most.
So glad you liked REV ME UP. Please visit again soon. It was fun chatting with you.

Tina–Glad to hear you like the cover to REV ME UP. Thank you. Les Byerly is the artist.
I like your motorcycle fantasy. I’d like to look like AJ too and be on a bike with Brad Pitt. He’s my ultimate fantasy male. BTW, if you scroll through my blog you’ll see my George Clooney CLASSIC HUNKS column. His pics are yummy.

Motorcycles are pleasant to sit on, if you know what I mean. *WINK* A few years ago I got midlife crisis and asked my friend to take me on my first motorcycle ride. It was awesome! Went past farms and got the full 5 senses, including scent.

Afton–I do know what you mean, and so does the heroine of REV ME UP. LOL. Thanks so much for visiting and posting.
