New Release! REV ME UP by Adele Dubois from Ellora’s Cave.
I’ve developed an amateur interest in the moon and sun and learning why the seasons change. September 22, 2009, at 5:18 p.m. EDT marks the exact moment when fall arrives and the astrological calendar enters the sign of Libra. The days and nights will become nearly equal in length, creating balance, as daytime and night both have durations of approximately twelve hours.
The Autumnal Equinox signals the beginning of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere and is celebrated by many cultures worldwide. Derived from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night), the equinox typically enters between September 22-24 when the sun appears to cross the celestial equator from north to south.
The Harvest Moon is the name of the full moon arriving closest to the Autumnal Equinox. In two years out of every three the Harvest Moon rises in September instead of October. The Harvest Moon shines this year on October 4, 2009. No matter where you live in the Northern Hemisphere, the moon will look round and full as it rises in the east around sunset. Farmers will work well into the night to gather their crops as the bright light of the Harvest Moon fills the sky and shines down on the earth.
Late September marks the cycle when grapes are traditionally harvested, pressed, and stored to become wine. When the light of the full Harvest Moon, also called the Wine Moon or Fruit Moon, shines bright across half the world on October 4, snuggle close to the one you love and toast the new season with full-bodied glasses of wine or cups of cider.
Who could ask for a more romantic setting than love, a good vintage, and a warm blanket spread beneath the glow of a full Harvest Moon?

Summary:
Lisa has always been a Good Girl. When she flashes her breasts at the hunk riding by on his Harley, her wild impulse seems like harmless fun. How could she know he’d hit the curb and land at her feet? To make amends with the cop from Santa Fe, Lisa agrees to a cocktail with him. When she slides on the bike’s rear leather seat and wraps her arms around Antonio’s buff body, they take off on the ultimate ride.
Antonio’s in town for his brother’s graduation before heading to FBI training. Lisa’s there to break up with her cheating midshipman boyfriend. Revenge sex with a hot cop may be the perfect way to unleash her inner Bad Girl. But can she keep her feelings casual?
With sexy Antonio by her side and the lust blazing between them, this Bad Girl may have a chance to have it all. As long as an ex-boyfriend out for revenge doesn’t destroy her new happiness.
Excerpt:
The first thing Antonio Alvarez noticed about the woman on the sidewalk was her waist length, light brown hair. He revved his Harley and watched her stroll along the curb line of this high-end tourist avenue with her head high and tanned arms swinging. Her hair swayed along her back, swishing between her shoulder blades, the tips caressing her bare waist above the rolled-down shorts curving over her hips. The white stretch of fabric that barely covered her round, slightly protruding butt clung to the split in her cheeks like the skin on a ripe peach. Below, the hem flashed orbs of alabaster skin like tiny quarter moons. A thong framed her tight, exquisite ass. Long, taut, tanned legs and small feet in high espadrilles moved in time to the sway of her hair. She must have heard his motorcycle behind her then, because she looked over her left shoulder and slowed her stride to check him out.
When she turned her face, their eyes met and Antonio’s adrenaline surged as if she had kissed him. His heart raced and he revved the engine of his bike again. The noise made her laugh, a clear, pleasant sound that reverberated through the air, linking them. He breathed in her laugh, trying to capture the peal inside his chest to cheer him the rest of the day.
Antonio smiled.
The woman smiled back, flashing white, perfect teeth. The symmetry of her sculpted features and open, friendly expression drew him closer. Passersby strolled in the opposite direction eating ice cream, walking their dogs or pointing out quaint shops to visit. Antonio barely noticed them. The woman in the woven espadrilles, tight white shorts and gauzy red cotton tank top stood out in the crowd like a holograph against a flat surface. Suddenly, the reason for his visit to Annapolis vanished. Antonio needed to meet this woman and see her again.
And again.
Looking at her jolted his dulled senses and numbed heart to life after a long drought. He hadn’t so much as glanced at another woman since Estela’s death. It had been eighteen months since the woman he loved was killed in the line of duty and he had never been unfaithful to her memory.
Until now.
The woman on the sidewalk revived him like a swim upward from the cold depths of the sea.
His friends would say it was about time.

Time is on my side.
Remember that song?
Only lately do I believe it—once again.
Why?
Because I have a new handle on it. A new schedule I have posted on my office bulletin board tells me so. With a writing career to produce new fiction, a need to promote all that, one 9-5 business to run, a penchant for cooking and dining with a partner who loves to pair the appropriate wine to the fare, I must keep my life in order.
A posted schedule sounds like a cop-out. But it isn’t for me. It has become a roadmap, if you will. And while I can choose to ignore it, I know I would do that at my peril.
Peril, as in, clients unhappy and gone, partner unhappy…but letting me know it, and a career that only I can nurture and make prosper.
One of the things I have learned to do to keep my life in sync with my need to stick to a schedule is to refuse to allow many things AND people to upset me. Those who have come to townhalls recently to shout out obscenities that only the uneducated and easily led can proclaim, have come the closest. And I have refrained—but mightily so—from talking and writing a few put-downs myself.
But no. Negativity kills creativity. I have learned that.
Instead, I will vote. And donate to those who represent my views.
The second thing I do to keep my days my own—and very happy, I add—is work some physical exercise into my day. Five minutes of yoga. A few stretches on the patio in the morning with my coffee. A walk in the neighborhood with doggie beside me. Or if I have two hours, a trip to the club to which I pay far too many dues for services I use!
What do you do to put time on your side? I’d love to hear.
And please do read my newest from www.jasminejade.com, a ménage, HER THREE-WAY MERGER, out 9/18/09!

Labor Day always makes me feel a little sad. It’s my least favorite holiday, since it marks the unofficial end of summer. Though autumn is still weeks away, leaves are already falling from the oak trees on my lawn and the evening air is crisp. Though I enjoy brisk walks around the park and the streets of my home town as the weather cools, I can’t shake the vague, nagging malaise that fills me when summer draws to an end.
On my backyard deck I created a warm-weather outdoor ‘office’ to write my books. This quiet place is also my reading retreat. My muse and I will miss it this winter.
Farewell, summer.
I was once accused of being a spy for the CIA. If the spy label conjures images of Jennifer Garner in Alias or the exotic and adventurous Bond girls, let me assure you I was completely innocent. I was too idealistic, too young, and too green to be anything else.
At the time, I was a rookie reporter, and about as wet behind the ears as one can get. I got a job at a newspaper in a developing country thousands of miles from home, and within two years was offered a slot as a political columnist. The newspaper that hired me ran the only free press in the country; the rest were owned by the communist-backed socialist government. Needless to say, the comrades didn’t take kindly to an American writing about capitalism and democracy on their turf. Faceless, nameless men tried to scare me off with threats, and I lived with bodyguards 24/7 for awhile.
You’re probably wondering what the heck I was doing in the Third World writing for a foreign newspaper. The answer is simple when you’re twenty, think you’re invulnerable, and live near a white sand beach with crystal blue waters.
I was in love. With a rebel. It doesn’t get more idealistic than that.
Love makes you stupid. It makes you take risks. It also stretches you to reach places you never thought you’d go.
My career as a foreign journalist lasted four years before I returned home–though it wasn’t angry socialists, death threats, or accusations of being a spy that sent me packing. What brought me back to the United States was a broken heart. The rebel I’d valiantly fought beside turned out to be the worst kind of lover. Though I’d helped restore democracy to his country, his devotion was limited to his own interests and didn’t extend to me.
I found my happily ever after, though, a few years later. I married a wonderful man and had two children who are now teens. I became an author. I like it in my safe, quiet office where I write books with equally happy endings that readers seem to like. At least, nobody has threatened to kill me and governments haven’t toppled in response to my stories.
Even the reviewers have been nice.
As a romance novelist, idealism is alive and well in my little corner of the world. And the pen is still mightier than the sword.
