George Timothy Clooney was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on May 6, 1961, and comes from a family of performers. His mother, Nina, was a pageant queen and his father, Nick, a news anchor, game show host and host of the American Movie Classics. His celebrity aunt, Rosemary Clooney, was married to actor Jose’ Ferrer; whose sons Miguel and Rafael Ferrer also became actors. When George tried to break into Hollywood, he worked a stint as Rosemary Clooney’s driver.
The above photo, left, circa 1985, shows George Clooney in an early supporting television role as contractor George Burnett in The Facts of Life. He next appeared as Booker Brooks on the popular sitcom Roseanne. Surprisingly, perhaps, his characters were not written as love interests.

George Clooney’s 1994 breakout role as Dr. Doug Ross on the television show ER made him a super star.
People magazine named George Clooney Sexiest Man Alive in both 1997 and 2006. Only one other man has made the ‘Sexiest’ cover twice; George’s pal, Brad Pitt.
George Clooney was the second man to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine. The first was Richard Gere. (See Richard Gere’s profile in a previous CLASSIC HUNKS column.)

George Clooney lives several months of the year in Italy at his villa in Laglio at Lake Como.

In 1997 George was named Best Dressed Male Television Star. Wow! No explanation needed.
Clooney Quotes:
“I’m the flavor of the month.”
“An acting career usually has about a shelf life of ten years before people get sick of seeing you. It’s a good thing to have a job to fall back on and I really do enjoy directing.”
“You never really learn much from hearing yourself talk.”

On January 31, 2008, the United Nations named George Clooney a “Messenger of Peace.”
George Clooney is an actor, director, writer, activist and CLASSIC HUNK. It was a pleasure searching the Internet for his pictures and researching his life. I could have posted dozens more photos and not grown tired of looking at them. I think George is the perfect CLASSIC HUNK, don’t you agree? Please do leave a comment.
